The value for money at this hotel was excellent. The room was comfortable, quiet, and full of character, like staying in a museum. The staff were friendly and efficient, making our stay even more enjoyable. The location was also very convenient for the Santander ferry.
The only thing that could make the breakfast option better would be a wider variety of choices.

Good central situation
Dark and gloomy entrance hall. Little or no info on sights and events in the surrounding area. No dining facilities, place to have a drink or sit outside (except in car park) on site. Limited range of tv channels. Mournful and unwelcoming lounge.

The room was bright, the breakfast was nice. Plus, free wifi was available. In the evening we visited restaurante gran duque, set walking distance from the hotel...

This hotel is a true gem in the heart of town. The attention to detail is remarkable, with rooms that have small balconies overlooking a charming cobbled yard. The staff are friendly and helpful, ensuring a pleasant stay. The breakfast is delicious, offering a variety of options to start the day right.
All was well during our stay.

This was the perfect little town. The hotel is a old mansion converted to luxury rooms with great service. The whole experience is great and the location for seeing the town and Altimira caves is perfect.

Its location in the centre of the town. Its location for visits to the sea, other towns and culture sites. The selection of good places to eat. The receptionists.
Rather disorganised breakfasts, even though they were self-service. Parking was sometimes difficult even though there was an 'overflow' garage.

The location of the hotel was very convenient for exploring the town and nearby attractions. The beds were comfortable, which is something we have come to expect from this chain of hotels.
The car park charges were not advertised in advance and we found it a bit cheeky to be charged 7 euros a day. Dinner was served at a sister hotel, which was not ideal, especially during bad weather.

Room and service was lovely, restaurant poor and terribly expensive
The restaurant - uncooked fish that was returned twice to the kitchen, wrong translation of the name of the dishes into english, and terribely expensive!!

We stayed at Santillana for two days at the end of our holiday in Spain prior to catching the ferry back to England. The hotel is in the very attractive town of Santillana with its mediaeval streets, quirky shops and friendly bars and is the perfect place to stay before making the trip back to the uk.

The Parador is in the centre of a very interesting medieval town, with internationally renowned caves with pre-historic cave drawings close by.
The Parador does not have its own restaurant for either dinner or breakfast. Meals can be taken at a sister, but more expensive Parador, within walking distance

The location above all and the quietness of the place.
The male staff was not able to use our international cards twice. I mean we had to try two different cards which we knew were not blocked. At the 3d time w/ our 3d and last credit card he decided to do it "manually", as he said, which was another machine.
